NAS

The NAS project scope offered SPSOFT an opportunity to design and develop a complete enterprise level NAS appliance with following features.

  • RAID and LUN management
  • Logical Volume Management
  • File system management
  • Sharing access on Windows, Linux and MAC platforms using CIFS, NFS and AFP
  • Backup and Recovery on Disk as well as Tape devices
  • Block level Snapshot (COW)
  • Disaster Recovery using cross platform remote replication
  • Block level storage access using iSCSI Target on Mac OS X
  • Cross platform, JAVA based GUI management
  • File and Block level storage access to multi-platform clients

We have the distinction of implementing many "industries first" on this project/product. We are the first to port the Open Pegasus CIMOM on Mac OS X for this product which has given us the industry recognition. Currently, we are the official platform maintainers of Open Pegasus CIMOM on Mac OS X. We are also the first to implement a SCSI pass through on Mac OS X.

SAN

Our storage management expertise for scalable, accessible, manageable and intelligent SAN services, have sufficed our clients with medium as well as large size business network setups. We have developed centralized GUI, Middleware Framework and Intelligent Storage Arrays, Switch and Fabric Management as per specific requirements. Our centralized UI includes scalable objects, event view, detailed view, tree view, topology, and task view features while the middleware framework provides scalable, correlation, reformatting and topology features.
We have implemented enterprise class GUI SAN management application based on standard 3-tier architecture which allows the management of SMI-S or non SMI-S based devices.
Our esteemed customers are satisfied with our services and knowledge for network compliance, storage management functionalities, and our CIM based management interfaces for proprietary solution.


IP SAN

IP SAN is easier to manage and less complex storage solution than either DAS (Direct-Attached Storage) or FC-SAN. (Fibre Channel Storage Area Network).
iSCSI (internet SCSI) can transport traditional high performance "Block-based" storage data over a common IP network. We have developed iSCSI target which provides block level storage access over an Ethernet infrastructure. Our IP-SAN solutions consist of iSCSI initiators in the servers connected to iSCSI storage systems (iSCSI Targets) by means of standard Gigabit Ethernet switches and cables.

Our IP SAN solutions can serve primary storage environments where Fibre Channel is not a feasible solution owing to its cost and complexity, or the lack of appropriately trained staff.
In addition, we have also implemented VSS based provider for snapshot of IP-SAN storage volumes.
